Alpha-1-Microglobulin
Alpha-1-microglobulin (A1M) is a small globular protein that is synthesized throughout the body, mainly in the liver. A1M is present in the plasma, urine, and cerebrospinal fluid. The protein functions to degrade heme and remove free radicals, thereby protecting cells from oxidative stress.
